    At Belmont racing 1 1/16 on the turf MY AMANJENA (Big Brown) overcame a bad bump at the start which left him at the back of the pack, was patiently handled while he gained on the field and then coming 5 wide surged to the lead for the win. He was 2nd in his last two start so was sitting on this graduation. The 3 year old gelding is a homebred for R. A. Hill Stable .

    Trainer George Weaver said Tuesday morning that Javier Castellano, who rode Vekoma to victory in Keeneland's Blue Grass (G2) on April 6, will have the mount in the 2019 Kentucky Derby on May 4 at Churchill Downs.

    Owned by the partnership of R.A. Hill Stable and Gatsas Stables, Vekoma returned to Palm Beach Downs training center in South Florida last Tuesday. Weaver said the colt is scheduled to work there Friday with plans to ship to Churchill on April 30 for the Derby.

    In the 3rd race, SHANGHAI DREAMS wired the field to break her maiden in her second start for owners R. A. Hill Stable and Gatsas Stables. On a muggy muddy day at Saratoga, she came back clean as a whistle after her win by 5 1/4 lengths. Her race went at 7 furlongs on the dirt instead of the planned mile on the turf.

    In the 4th race, ALL ABOUT IT, making his first start in a sprint which stayed on the turf, got his head in front in the stretch but just got nipped at the wire by a neck. The 2-year-old Violence colt is owned by John Schutte and R. A. Hill Stable. Watch for this one!

     MO MAVERICK (Uncle Mo) stalked the pace and then cleared to win the Lamplighter S at Monmouth for owners R. A. Hill Stable and Gatsas Stables. He was bred by Gentry Stable. "He sat just off the early pace and was comfortable," said winning rider Eddie Castro. "I felt the horse come pressure me on the outside and I asked him to run and he took off. He's a really good horse." The winner's dam, a stakes winner for George Weaver, has a 2-year-old colt named Raging Fire (Tapizar) who was third on debut at Belmont July 14. She has a weanling by Carpe Diem and was bred back to Liam/s Mapago.

    The barn had a second win at Monmouth when STASHA MINASHA broke her maiden.

    HIGH NOON RIDER led gate to wire to annex the BETTER TALK NOW S at Saratoga, giving trainer George Weaver a pair of winners for the second consecutive day.  A $400,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase, High Noon Rider showed the way through measured fractions of :25.02 and :50.04. Never truly threatened entering the lane, he strode home to an open-length romp.

    Graded stakes placed Tencedur, second in the Wood and unraced since the Kentucky Derby, ran close to the pace, dropped back briefly and then in a gutsy move he surged forward again on the outside to miss by a whisker in the $500,000 Ohio Derby. This unusual effort to come on again in a race seems to be his specialty as he did the same in the Wood. It is impressive as he is a very large horse.
